Peruvian Railways
22nd July 2004 to 2nd August 2004

A two week trip to Peru. A few days around Lima to start off with and then flew to Cusco to travel on the Perurail train to Machu Picchu followed by the Cusco - Puno train the next day. We then flew back to Lima and rode the train to Huancayo, the highest rail journey in the world! We then rode the narrow gauge train from Huancayo - Huancavelica and had to return by taxi as the train didn't run! The journey back to Lima was with Alco power throughout! A visit to Callao depot in Lima before flying home!
